You’ve got competition, Orlando! Bollywood Parks Dubai has just broken the world record for “tallest swing ride” with its latest attraction, The Bollywood Skyfler.

What is Bollywood Parks Dubai?

Bollywood Parks Dubai is the world’s first Bollywood-themed park, offering cinematic rides and blockbuster attractions, extravagant live entertainment, delectable dining, shopping, and more!

The park is broken down into the following themed zones:

  • Rustic Ravine: A themed zone designed to represent the vibrant Village landscape of Rural India. Rustic Ravine perfectly encapsulates the authentic hustle and bustle of middle India.
  • Mumbai Chowk: Themed to represent the home of Bollywood, Mumbai Chowk inspired by the modern classic Don, Mumbai Chowk.
  • Bollywood Boulevard and Bollywood Film Studio featuring Hall of Heros: Bollywood Boulevard features entertainment, cafes, street-style food carts, and shopping.
  • Royal Plaza: Walk into an era of opulence and splendour unlike any other, featuring the iconic Rajmahal Theatre.

Whips, Whirls, Drops

The Bollywood Skyflyer, which debuted on January 21st, 2021, stands at an impressively grandiose 460 feet high, roughly the same height as the Great Pyramid of Giza. Showcasing double-seated swings designed to hold 24 passengers, the record breaker whips, whirls, drops, and rotates speeds through the sky, offering stunning vistas to those brave enough to ride.

Previously, the record was held by the Orlando StarFlyer (450 feet), followed by The Wheel at Icon Park (400 feet), both located in Orlando, FL.

Stunning Vistas

In addition to its monumental rideability, it is also a marvellous sight to behold. In the evening, it offers the attraction flashes a vibrant array of colours, as well as photos and video.

An Attraction for All Ages

Bollywood Parks Dubai’s nomenclature states that the new attraction “is a unique attraction that appeals to both young and old, the adventurous and not so adventurous.”

Making of Skyfler, Making Use of Time

According to the park’s General Manager Milton D’Souza, the ride took 600 days to build and an additional 120 days to install using 421 tons of steel.

“We used the time to create and build a brand-new area in the park that we call the Mela Zone, which is home to the majority of the nine new rides at Bollywood Parks Dubai,” shared D’Souza.

That’s Not All, Folks

In addition to this groundbreaking thrill ride, Bollywood Parks Dubai has also recently debuted eight family-friendly rides since its re-opening in January:

  • Taxi No. 1: a mini roller with all the high-speed mayhem of a taxi ride through the city.
  • Abraa Ka Dabra: a wacky raft ride that swivels and twists.
  • Tanga No. 13: a gentle simulated horse-cart style chariot ride
  • Rodeo Ki Sawari: a spinning bull-shaped ride ala “teacups.”
  • Monsoon Masti: a barrel-shaped raft takes you on a water-blasting battle against other riders!
  • Rocket: a mini drop tower.
  • Hawa Hawai: a hang-gliding “flying carpet” attraction.
  • Wheel of Stars: 180-foot-tall Ferris wheel.

And that’s not all, boasts Bollywood Parks Dubai. Before the year is over, they will also open the area’s first and only wooden roller coaster!
