Disneyland Paris has set a new Guinness World Record with its Bastille Day drone display on July 14th 2024. The official record is for “Largest aerial display of a fictional character formed by multirotors/drones” of a giant tricolour Mickey Mouse that illuminated the sky above the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The Disneyland Paris Entertainment Team partnered with Dronisos to create this record-smashing drone show that used more than 1630 drones (including pyro-drones). The nighttime spectacular was a Bastille Day exclusive, announced just days before the French national day of celebration took place.

Guests were left in awe of the groundbreaking performance. The 12-minute show combined drone choreography with pyrotechnics and dazzling lights to showcase some of Paris’ most famous landmarks and iconic Disney stories set in France. The Eiffel Tower and rose stained glass window from Notre Dame were included, alongside scenes from Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sleeping Beauty, The Aristocats, and Ratatouille.

Matthieu Robin, Entertainment Creative Lead at Disneyland Paris, said: “It’s a testament to the creativity, innovation, and hard work of our entire team. This achievement underscores our commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences to our guests.”
