Watch out Volcano Bay and Typhoon Lagoon, a new epic water park is about to open in Florida. Just a couple of hours down the road from Disney and Universal's offerings, Great Wolf Lodge will bring another thrilling water park to the State.
The indoor water park will open in Naples on 25th September, 2024, bringing with it many adrenaline-pumping rides based on the adventures of the Great Wolf Pack, the resort’s adorable cast of characters.
Great Wolf Resorts originally purchased land in Orlando but decided to relocate along the I-75 to Naples instead. Here’s what to expect at the 92,000-square-foot park when it opens later this year…
Rides and Attractions at Great Wolf Lodge Water Park
The Otter Cave Waterworks will be the park’s main attraction. This multilevel, interactive play zone comes with a signature 1000-gallon tipping bucket and four twisting slides.
Breakaway Bay is one of Great Wolf Lodge’s more thrilling attractions, making its debut at the Naples resort. It’s an exhilarating family raft adventure featuring a cone-shaped tornado and a 360-degree loop. Meanwhile, guests will be able to unleash their competitive side on Rapid Racer, a side-by-side course that features drops, chutes, and serpentine curves.
For even more thrills, High Paw Holler is a body slide through enclosed flumes, while Forest Flume is an open slide through 360-degree loops, high-banking turns, and quick acceleration drops.
The water park will also feature some family favourites. River Canyon Run is a fun white-water adventure (though there are no steep drops, so it’s ideal for younger children) and the Crooked Creek Lazy River allows guests to relax and unwind as they float around the outskirts of the Otter Cave Waterworks.
Slap Tail Pond, a wave pool triggered by a howling wolf, looks set to be another attraction popular with families. Likewise, Big Foot Pass is a unique water obstacle challenge where guests will balance on floating logs and lily pads as they cross the water.
There are currently 20 Great Wolf Lodge Resorts across the USA and Canada, with the Naples location the company's first in Florida. The water park will be exclusive to hotel guests only, with bookings open now.
