Earlier this summer, we reported on Orlando’s new floating cinema. This reimagined take on the classic standard movie theatre is scheduled to be a one-week, one-hour theatrical experience. Now, it seems as though Walmart wants to get in on the action. That’s right, folks! Welcome to the age of The Walmart Drive-In Experience. I’ll admit, of all the effects I thought COVID-19 would have on our world… I just did not see this one coming. Alas, Walmart will soon be offering a brand-new Walmart drive-in experience at 160 stores across the United States in partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival, showcasing 320 showings of blockbuster films!

If you’re a Walmart customer then you are in luck, my friend.

Available for FREE to Walmart customers, the Walmart Drive-in will transform the stores’ parking lots into an outdoor cinema from August 14th to October 21st, 2020.

“We recognize the challenges our customers and their families have faced over the last few months and we wanted to create an experience where they could come together safely to create new memories,” said Janey Whiteside, chief customer officer for Walmart. “The Walmart Drive-in is one small way we’re supporting the communities we serve.”
