Details for Disney’s largest annual fan event have been released. D23 returns to California on 9, 10, and 11 August, 2024, bringing with it an exciting programme sure to be filled with surprises.
This year, the Comic Con-like celebration is taking place in multiple locations in and around Anaheim, including at the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center.
Disney has even stated that it will feature the largest, most expansive show floor in the event's history. We cannot wait to see what groundbreaking theme park news comes out of the event.
What’s On
D23 Day
Before the main event has even started, guests will be able to soak up the magic of Disney at the first-ever D23 Day at Disneyland.
On 8th August, Disneyland Park will feature a custom cavalcade, unique photo opportunities, and a dance party. Over in Disney California Adventure, younger fans will be able to enjoy a music-filled celebration with Disney Junior.
Better yet, this is included in regular theme park entry, so you don’t even need to be a D23 member to attend.
Anaheim Convention Center Show Floor
During the day, the Anaheim Convention Center will become an immersive hub. Here guests will be able to wander between pavilions from Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Lucasfilm, Marvel, and more.
Fans will be able to enjoy plenty of shopping opportunities for exclusive merchandise and collectibles. Favourites such as Mickey’s of Glendale, The Hollywood Studio Store, and The Emporium will return, while The Walt Disney Company Store will make its debut and feature exclusive D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event items.
Plus, a brand-new exhibition from the Walt Disney Archives, A Great Big Beautiful Car Show, will also feature. Few details have been shared about this at the moment, but we expect to see a handful of cars from Disney parks and movies.
Nighttime Showcases
New for 2024, the Honda Center will host three nights of Disney fun. Friday night offers a star-studded Disney Entertainment Showcase, where guests will be able to take a look at upcoming movies, series, and stage shows.
Saturday night might just be the most exciting part of the entire weekend. This is the Disney Experiences Showcase, where the latest Disney theme park projects in development will be teased. We're expecting to hear a little bit more about Walt Disney World's DinoLand U.S.A. retheme and/or expansion this year, as well as a couple of other exciting projects that Disney has previously teased.
D23 will conclude on Sunday evening with the Disney Legends showcase. The 2024 additions to the Disney Legends Hall of Fame have been announced already, though Ryan Seacrest will host a special ceremony at the Honda Center where the new legends are honoured.
