Following Dark Universe’s grand reveal last week, film composer Danny Elfman has revealed that he is composing the land’s chilling soundtrack.

The classic Universal monsters-theme land is expected to have equally spooky music – and Danny Elfman is the perfect fit. The American composer is well known for his work on The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, and The Simpsons, among plenty others.

In an Instagram story, Elfman shared his excitement for the project. The post said: “The Universal Monsters have always been such a big part of my life. I’m grateful and honored to have been chosen to compose the music for the new Dark Universe in @universalorlando. I can’t wait to go!!!”

Rumours of Danny Elfman’s involvement in this project have been swirling for weeks after it was noted that one of his current projects was music for an upcoming theme park.

The rumours were fuelled further when Universal released a virtual fly-through of Dark Universe accompanied by a very Elfman-esque piece of music. If this is a glimpse of what’s to come, we’re very excited! Take a listen for yourself below.
