We finally have more information about Universal Orlando’s DreamWorks Land – it officially opens this summer.
This new themed land has replaced the KidZone area near E.T. Adventure in the Universal Studios Florida park. It's aimed at younger park-goers (meaning no big thrills here) but still has plenty to entertain the entire family.
Here's what to expect...
Shrek-Themed Area
There’s plenty of fun to be had near Shrek’s oasis. Guests will be able to meet a whole host of familiar faces at Shrek’s Swamp Meet, while Shrek’s Swamp for Little Ogres is a play area for kids featuring four fun slides, wet play areas, and a playground.
Fans of the movie Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish will not want to skip out on the Mama Luna Feline Fiesta attraction. This interactive experience takes place inside Mama Luna’s retirement home for cats and allows guests to play with the cats on interactive screens through buttons, bells, and levers. Keep your eyes peeled, as Puss in Boots might just swing by to say hello.
Nearby will be King Harold’s Swamp Symphony, a choir of frogs controlled by interactive lily pads. Guests can stomp on these pads to activate a multitude of melodic rabbits.
And, when hunger strikes, the Swamp Snacks kiosk will serve tasty snacks inspired by the Shrek movie. We’re very intrigued by the Shrekzel and the Frozen Ogre.
Trolls-Themed Area
Trolls Trollercoaster is the main ride in DreamWorks Land, technically replacing Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster. Guests will board the Caterbus to flee evil spiders as they whizz along the family-friendly track.
In recent weeks we’ve spotted a very unusual-looking piece of construction being built, though we now know what it is: Poppy’s Playground. This shaded play area is hidden beneath a 20-foot mushroom for the youngest of Trolls.
Poppy’s boombox from Trolls Band Together inspires the playful kiosk, Trolls Treats. Guests needing to cool off can grab ice creams like a pink lemonade-flavoured Poppy-licious Pink and huckleberry-flavoured BroZone Berry.
Plus, the Trolls area is also home to a new merchandise shop, High Five Hideaway. This is where guests can purchase apparel, plushies, and accessories from Shrek, Trolls, Kung Fu Panda, Gabby’s Dollhouse, and more.
Kung Fu Panda-Themed Area
In the Kung Fu Panda area of DreamWorks Land, guests can meet the Dragon Warrior at Po Live! Po (and adorable baby Ling Ling) will be on hand to teach Kung Fu and cook a delicious stir-fry meal.
This area will also be home to Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp, a play area set inside the Panda Village. As well as merry-go-round noodle bowls and water canons, this wet and dry play area will include an interactive gong and cheeky baby pandas.
Other Experiences
Additionally, DreamWorks Land will boast a new Character Zone, where guests can meet and interact with their favourite DreamWorks characters not featured in the three main areas.
Plus, the DreamWorks Imagination Celebration is a multisensory adventure that combines hit pop songs, high-energy dancing, and advanced technology in an all-new DreamWorks Theater.
