Ever wanted to be transformed into your favorite monster? You’re in luck – Universal Studios Florida has introduced a Monster Makeover experience where you can do just that.

This grisly experience takes place inside the Five & Dime in Hollywood land and is similar to Disney World’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Though, unlike at Disney, there’s no upper age limit for this experience.

Plus, Universal’s Monster Makeover packages are cheaper than their Magic Kingdom counterpart – a full-face will set you back $125, while half-face options are priced at $65.

About the Monster Makeover Experience

The makeup artists for the Monster Makeover experience are the same people who work on the Halloween Horror Nights actors, so it’s safe to say you’re in expert hands. The vast majority of the face paint will be airbrushed on for a flawless effect, though smaller details are hand-painted.

A red carpet welcomes future monsters to the left of the cash registers at the Five & Dime. Inside, the room is decorated in classic monster memorabilia like vintage posters and gilded mirrors, plus there are two makeup stations.

In total, there are 38 face paint options to choose from, ranging from vampires to a Bride of Frankenstein. Plus, there are multiple wolf options (with varying degrees of facial hair), lightning-strike villains, and a whole host of creepy clowns.

Or, if you would prefer just the half-face option, you can choose between rather gory-looking facial wounds, a realistic half-skull, and, what might just be our favorite, a steampunk design made to look like cogs inside an open wound.

How to Book a Monster Makeover

While there are future plans to allow online bookings, guests can currently only reserve a spot at the cash register inside Five & Dime. The experience is open to those 6+ and will take around 25 minutes for half-face designs and 45 minutes for full-face makeup.
