Paging Mr. Morrow… Mr. Tom Morrow. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover refurbishment has been extended through November. I repeat, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover will refurbishment has been extended through November.

Word broke just last month when The TTA at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park officially made its way over to the refurbishment list. At the time, the refurbishment calendar only listed the attraction as being closed through October 31st, 2020.

However, now it appears as though the refurbishment is to take its sweet time, listing the new reopening date as November 21st, 2020.

As you may recall, prior to the Magic Kingdom’s reopening, the beloved classic attraction was down throughout the entire Cast Member and Annual Passholder previews.

The last time the attraction was open was in March, prior to the park’s unprecedented temporary shutdown. Following that, the attraction was moved to the “Temporarily Unavailable” list on July 28th, 2020.

Fun Fact

Today we know the attraction as the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. However, when the attraction first opened, it was known as the WEDWay PeopleMover. The WED stood for Walter Elias Disney. In 1994, WEDWay PeopleMover changed to Tomorrowland Transit Authority. That name stuff for until 2010. In 2010, the term “PeopleMover” was added back to the end of the attraction title. Hence, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

Well, you hate to see it happen, folks! Alas, we had a feeling this would be the case. We’re just relieved to know that it IS coming back. You can never be too sure these days!
