Paging Mr. Morrow… Mr. Tom Morrow. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover will be closed throughout Halloween. I repeat, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover will closed throughout Halloween.

That’s right, folk. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park has officially made the move over to the refurbishment list.

When you visit the Walt Disney World webpage for the attraction, you will notice a note at the bottom of the page detailing that the attraction is “temporarily unavailable and is currently closed for refurbishment. Please check back here for updates.”

The date for the refurbishment is currently set to end on October 31, 2020. However, we suspect this could be fake news, as the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar only goes out as far as October 31, 2020.

If you’re unfamiliar, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is slower-moving and takes you all over Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland. It offers rare sneak peeks at several of the attractions around the surrounding areas and peeks at behind-the-scenes and setups. In addition, it offers a bit of a bird’s-eye view of fellow guests and Cast Members.

As you may recall reading, preceding the Magic Kingdom’s reopening, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover did not operate throughout the Cast Member and Walt Disney World Annual Passholder preview.

The last time the attraction was open was in March before it was closed for a week.

Fun Fact

Today we know the attraction as the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. However, when the attraction first opened, it was known as the WEDWay PeopleMover. The WED stood for Walter Elias Disney. In 1994, WEDWay PeopleMover changed to Tomorrowland Transit Authority. That name stuff for until 2010. In 2010, the term “PeopleMover” was added back to the end of the attraction title. Hence, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.
