Today was a very exciting day for guests at Animal Kingdom – 2-month-old African elephant Corra took her very first steps inside the park.

While baby Corra was seen bounding around the park in the eyeline of guests, she stayed pretty close to her mom Nadirah. Don’t worry if you didn’t catch her – Disney has shared plenty of cute photos.

Disney's Conservation Efforts

Corra was born in December and is the exciting result of efforts to boost the endangered species.

Scott Terrell, D.V.M. Director of Animal and Science Operations for Disney Experiences, said about Corra’s birth, “With this birth, and every birth, we are sustaining a healthy population of elephants to help protect the species and share their story with millions of guests from around the world.”

Corra is now the first second-generation elephant in Animal Kingdom history – Nadirah (and her sister Stella) were both also born on Disney property.

Disney also shared another piece of exciting news: two more baby elephants are expected to arrive in 2025.
