After countless years of construction (alright, we counted: 4 years, 9 months, and 7 days,) the EPCOT construction walls are finally down.

The CommuniCore Hall and Plaza has opened to park guests today (June 10) at Walt Disney World, completing the World Celebration area.

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza

The CommuniCore Hall and Plaza is located in World Celebration, and the Walt Disney World app has been updated to reflect this. The new space is home to both indoor and outdoor festival hubs and exhibition space, while the design takes inspiration from the Spaceship Earth tiles.

Fans have had mixed reactions to the new building, with many comments on social media expressing disappointment regarding the overly minimal interior (aside from a bright new mural.)

One thing we have noticed is that there’s a severe lack of shade in the surrounding CommuniCore Plaza. So, while the CommuniCore Hall might be rather lacklustre, the area is spacious enough to provide some much-needed AC in the summer. Take a look inside the CommuniCore Hall below...

CommuniCore Hall is also home to a brand-new Mickey & Friends meet-and-greet. Guests will be able to snap photos with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy throughout the day; each character has their own separate area with a brightly-coloured mural as a backdrop.

¡Celebración Encanto!

¡Celebración Encanto! stage
The new stage is home to ¡Celebración Encanto! multiple times a day.

On the CommuniCore Plaza stage, “¡Celebración Encanto!” is a brand-new show featuring Mirabel and Bruno from the Encanto movie, plus a sing-a-long and dance party. The show will take place daily at 9:45 am, 10:45 am, 11:45 am, 1:25 pm, 2:25 pm, 3:25 pm, 3:45 pm. These times are subject to change, so make sure you check the My Disney Experience App for up-to-date timings.

¡Celebración Encanto! will run during the day from June 10 to September 6. At night, a Latin groove band will take to the stage to delight EPCOT guests.
