Are you ready for some flowers and flavours from around the world? Believe it or not, Walt Disney World has already released dates for its beloved EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival 2021. And this time, it comes with a “Taste of…” twist, a new tradition born out of the phased reopening.

A Festival with Character!

While a modified festival experience still seems likely throughout 2021, fan-favourites character topiaries will be making their way back to the festival, including Mickey, Donald, Remy, Anna & Elsa, Figment and more!

And, if you’re looking to capture that picture-perfect moment, the Disney Horticulture team has just the setting in mind, as they gear up to bring guests a myriad of bright blooms and floating gardens strewn about EPCOT!

If you’ve never visited EPCOT in the Spring, these two vivid elements are worth the trip and the price of admission!

Eat Around The World

In addition to a feast for the eyes, more than twenty scrumptious stops will be found throughout the park and World Showcase will once again open its walkways to the festival’s Outdoor Kitchens!

If you’re a fan of the far offered at the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, you may want to give the Taste of EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival a try! Frankly, some of the options here downright rival Food & Wine!

These Are A Few of Our Favorite Things

While there is no guarantee that our favourite bites from past festivals will return, it is likely that a few familiar staples will come our way again.

Disney has yet to release a menu lineup. But to give you an idea of what may be to come, here are a few of Thrillspace’s favourite eats from the 2019 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.

  • Violet Lemonade at Pineapple Promenade
  • Bon Bon Chicken Skewer at Lotus House
  • Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with Savory Garlic Spread at Trowel and Trellis
  • Fried Cauliflower with Capers, Garlic Parsley, and Chili Ranch Sauce at Taste of Marrakesh
  • Mini Funnel Cake at Funnel Cake Stand
  • Chinese Cotton Candy at Lotus House

BEE Sure Not To Miss This

If you’ve got a bit of a green thumb, you’ll be happy to hear that gardeners of all ages are invited to participate in Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration – a springtime scavenger hunt starring Spike, the buzzzz-iest honeybee at Walt Disney World.

In addition, “Bee” sure to keep your eyes peeled for festival merch throughout the park.

Does The Garden No Longer Rock?

Typically, concerts take place at the America Gardens Theatre in the American Adventure Pavilion through the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival and guests are invited to groove to the hottest throwback beats around. In the past, singing and dancing with the all-stars has taken center stage with major headliners such as; Plain White T’s, Marshall Tucker Band, The Pointer Sister, and more!

Unfortunately, we have yet to hear any news of this festival offering returning. Truth is, the live entertainment industry is still a bit touch-and-go due to COVID-19, especially when it comes to theme park performances. We still are missing major productions throughout Walt Disney World, including Find Nemo: The Musical (Disney’s Animal Kingdom), Festival of The Lion King (Disney’s Animal Kingdom), The Hoop De Doo Revue (Disney’s Wilderness Lodge), Spirit of Aloha (Disney’s Polynesian Village and Resort), and more. However, all is not lost. Recently, EPCOT has brought some live entertainment to the stage through the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, such as EPCOT Voices of Liberty.

Only time will tell when live entertainment will be back to normal at Walt Disney World.

Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is scheduled to run through July 5th, 2021. Access if available with valid admission and park reservation.
