Drayton Manor has revealed the name of its brand-new roller coaster: Gold Rush.
The Intamin lift and launch coaster will be located in the Frontier Falls section of the park. It will open just months after The Wave, Drayton Manor’s Zero-G family coaster, which was rethemed from Shockwave.
Gold Rush
Gold Rush will be the UK’s longest family coaster and the first family coaster featuring a lift and launch. Drayton Manor has also dubbed it the “UK's first backward launch into outdoor gravity track,” which promises to thrill riders young and old.
The Gold Rush ride vehicles – wooden mine carts decorated with mining equipment – were revealed last month. The attraction will have a minimum height restriction of just 1m, so it will be a perfect first coaster for younger riders.
You can watch the fun teaser video below, which shows an old cowboy reminiscing about his time during the Gold Rush.
The opening date for this attraction is yet to be announced. Check back with Themepark+ for the latest news and updates.
