Big news! Merlin Entertainments to reopen Warwick Castle and Alton Towers this week. The company notified its annual pass holders with an email on June 2, 2020.

Merlin Entertainments to Reopen Warwick Castle and Alton Towers' first

In the email released by Merlin Entertainments, they announced that the grounds and gardens of Warwick Castle and the gardens of Alton Towers would be reopening on June 6, 2020. This falls in line with the new government guidelines on public outdoor facilities. Merlin reiterates that the health and safety of guests is their top priority. For this reason, there will be some new safety requirements in place.

New Safety Requirements

Even though you may have an annual pass, everyone will be required to pre-book a ticket online. These reservations can be made up to seven days in advance through their website for a small fee. This system will be in place until further notice.

In addition, all guests will need to pass a temperature check before entering. Those with a fever will be sent away. Proper face coverings will also be required.

Pass Extensions

Along with these new safety regulations, there are updates regarding annual pass extensions. New passes that were purchased before March 19, 2020, will automatically be extended an extra five months from the original expiration dates. If your pass extension falls during the offseason when some attractions are closed, your passes will be further extended as needed automatically. Annual passes that were purchased during the closure will be extended by the amount of time lost during the closure.
