The Disney Illuminations nighttime spectacular will return to Disneyland Paris this month following a final Disney Dreams show. However, this comes with a major caveat: a third of Illuminations has been scrapped.

On 8th May, Disneyland Paris accidentally quietly announced on the website that the final Disney Dreams show would take place on 30th May before being replaced by Illuminations on the 31st. While this announcement was swiftly removed, Disney eventually confirmed this would be the case.

That’s not all – Disney has since revealed that the Illuminations fireworks show will be significantly shorter than it was previously. This is due to the entire Beauty and the Beast live-action scene and one of the Frozen scenes being removed.

No reason has been given for this change and new scenes are not expected to make up the rest of the show. Fans have shared mixed reactions online, with plenty calling for both Disney Dreams and Disney Illuminations to both be retired in favour of a fresh new nighttime spectacular.

The first showing of Disney Illuminations will be on 31st May 2024 in Disneyland Park.
