Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will reopen on July 1, announced Oriental Land Co. on Tuesday (6/23/2020) in Japan.

Although The Tokyo Disney Resort parks may be the very last of Disney’s theme parks to announce their reopening date, they will not be the last to officially reopen. Remember, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are both currently scheduled to reopen on July 17th, 2020. However, a lot depends on state approval from California.

Shanghai and Hong Kong have already reopened, leaving Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World parks scheduled to open by July 15, 2020.4. Naturally, keeping in trend with Disney parks reopening around the world, there are a few new guidelines, such as:

Capacity

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will reopen to guests under limited capacity, with several restrictions put into effect. Guests must partake in a mandatory temperature check to enter and the park will be implementing physical distancing throughout queues and attractions, as well as shopping and dining destinations.

Sanitation

Increased sanitation and maintenance will be employed throughout the entire resort.

Masks

Guests will be required to wear masks. However, according to Tokyo Disney Resort’s reopening guidelines, guests who maintain proper physical distance will be allowed to remove their masks while outside during the summer to avoid heat-related ailments. Guests with temperatures above 37.5 degrees Celsius will not be admitted to the park.

Tickets

Date-specific tickets will go on sale Thursday, June 25th, 2020. Only date-specific tickets will be honoured at this time. There will be a lottery system announced at a later date to determine visit dates for Annual Passholders. Tickets without dates may be extended or refunded.
