Make sure your lap bar is securely fastened because Universal Orlando Resort is looking to reopen to the general public as early as Friday, June 5, 2020!

Universal Orlando Resort presented its reopening phase one plan today (Thursday, May 21st, 2020) to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force. The reopening plan includes a projected opening date of June 1st, 2020, as well as a public opening on June 5th. In addition, the plan held several additional safety and precautionary measures that would be set in place, including mandatory temperature checks.

The Orange County staff will visit the parks prior to signing off on the plans, followed by awaiting Governor Ron DeSantis’ final approval.

Beginning on June 1st, 2020 and June 2nd, 2020 Universal plans to reopen for Team Members only. On June 3rd, 2020 and June 4th, 2020, invited guests and [potentially] pass holders will be included in the reopening plans. Finally, on June 5th, 2020 the park will celebrate their official public re-opening.

Universal is the first major theme park in Central Florida to present plans to the task force.

Universal Orlando Resort has been closed since mid-March in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
