Have you been pining away for a taste of that carefree island lifestyle? Then you’re going to love this splashtastic news! Universal Orlando Resort’s Volcano Bay will be making its grand return on February 27, 2021!

Volcano Bay closed in March 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic. It reopened in June before closing again in November 2020 for a “seasonal closure.”

While this news may be exciting, before you go slapping on your swimmers, it is worth noting that enhanced health and safety measures will be put in place when the tropical-themed water park reopens.

What to Expect

While enhanced health and safety measures are a moving target these days, guests can expect the following:

  • temperature screenings for guests and staff
  • limited capacity
  • social distancing
  • cleaning and disinfection procedures
  • mandatory face coverings inside all restaurants, and shops, and when entering or departing the park

Despite the list above, guests may (or may not) be relieved to learn that face masks will not be permitted on slides or while in the pools. In addition, though capacity will be limited, reservations will not be required.
