Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced an exciting new addition to its theme park offerings: a DreamWorks Animation-themed land. This new section, taking over the area formerly known as Woody Woodpecker's KidZone in Universal Studios Florida, is set to feature attractions from popular DreamWorks franchises including Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda.

These franchises are not just fan favourites but also box-office hits. Shrek 2 holds the title of the highest-grossing DreamWorks Animation film. The Trolls franchise, encompassing two successful films, two TV series, video games, live shows, and a staggering 4 billion views on Peacock Kids, is another highlight. Additionally, Gabby's Dollhouse has become a top-rated preschool toy globally, recently celebrating the sale of 1 million Gabby’s Purrfect Dollhouses.

This new land is part of Universal Orlando's ongoing expansion, following the recent announcement of a Minion Land featuring the Villain Con Minion Blast experience. The transformation of the KidZone area into this new themed land began earlier this year with the area's closure and subsequent demolition.

In a recent statement, Universal shared their vision for the DreamWorks Animation-themed land: "Next year, guests at Universal Orlando Resort will be welcomed into a vibrant, colourful world celebrating DreamWorks Animation's iconic characters. This new land will offer immersive experiences, where guests can have memorable interactions with characters like Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse, and explore themed, interactive play areas and attractions that bring beloved series such as Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda to life in the most imaginative and fun ways."

While this announcement gives a glimpse into the future of Universal Orlando Resort, details about the specific experiences and the official opening date of the DreamWorks Animation-themed land are still under wraps. Fans and guests alike are eagerly awaiting more information from Universal.

As Universal Orlando Resort continues to evolve and expand its offerings, the addition of the DreamWorks Animation-themed land is yet another reason for visitors to be excited about their next trip to the park. Stay tuned for further updates and details on this promising new themed area.
