Set-Up

As we’ve come to learn, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind begins in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that examines the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. Guests will be encouraged to learn more about Xandar’s treasures – that is, until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos ensue!

Ground-Breaking

By the looks of it, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is well on its way to becoming a surefire hit! The storytelling coaster showcases a revolutionary ride system with vehicles that rotate 360 degrees. And if that doesn’t get you, the reverse launch ought to do the trick!

The Omnicoaster features a programmable roller coaster ride system where guests can be rotated along the ride track in any direction while travelling at high speeds. This system will fully immerse you in the attraction’s story from the minute you take off!

Disney Tradition

If the name “Omnicoaster” sounds a bit familiar, that’s because the name derives from the Omnimover ride system, which revolutionized the theme park industry by allowing Walt Disney Imagineers to turn guests in any direction and focus their attention on a specific scene or element. Select attractions that have employed the use of the Omnimover include Adventure Thru Inner Space, Haunted Mansion, If You Had Wings, Spaceship Earth, World of Motion, Delta Dreamflight, The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure.

Despite setbacks due to COVID-19, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is still slated to open sometime in 2021.
