Ready to head down the Bayou? Here’s everything you need to know about riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when it opens on 28th June 2024 in the Magic Kingdom.

As this is an eagerly anticipated attraction, Disney will implement a virtual queue system when it first opens, similar to those used for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tron Lightcycle Run.

You’ll want to set your alarm early for the chance to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. You can request to join the virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app at 7am or 1pm. If successful, you will be given a boarding group and a callback time to the ride.

This means that you may wake up to secure your place at 7am and not need to head into the Magic Kingdom until late morning. Note that you will also need a valid theme park entry for the Magic Kingdom; a virtual queue time slot alone is not sufficient.

It’s also important to remember that even though you are given a boarding group, you’ll likely still have a wait for the attraction on the day. In most cases, snagging a place in the virtual queue does not equal a walk-on.

The only other way to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure while this system is in place is by using the Genie+ service. This is a paid service that ranges between $20-$40 per day and allows guests to book Lightning Lanes (a kind of fastpass) for individual attractions.

Read our full guide to using Genie+ at Walt Disney World.

A standby queue will not be available during the initial opening days, though Disney has stated that they will not be using the virtual queue for a long period of time (cough, cough Cosmic Rewind.)

Will You Miss the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Queue Details?

The Tiana’s Bayou Adventure queue is where the attraction’s story begins, around a year after The Princess and the Frog movie was set. The details in the queue system set the scene: Tiana has expanded her business with Tiana’s Foods and has created a community Co-Op where she sells goods.

Keep your eyes peeled as you make your way through the queue, as you’ll be able to spot letters to and from Tiana’s father, beautiful family photos, and even a full-size kitchen (this is where the magic happens.)

When you arrive for your virtual queue slot, you will still walk through the standby queue and, therefore, get to see the incredible theming.

If you opt to use a Genie+ Lightning Lane, you’ll head through a separate line that stretches parallel to the standby lane. This means you get to see most of the queue, though you might have an obscured view of some of the details.
