Since the major news of Epic Universe dropped in January, we’ve been patiently waiting for more details about the theme park’s different lands. And finally Universal has teased the rides and attractions in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.
From thrilling rides to immersive shows and fun dining locations, here’s what to expect when How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk opens at Epic Universe in 2025.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk Attractions
We already knew some of the main details surrounding the land, but Universal has confirmed the names of the attractions coming to Isle of Berk. Guests will step into a world where Vikings and dragons roam amidst the following:
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders
Get ready to experience life as a dragon, as the standout attraction in this Epic Universe land is Hiccup’s Wing Gliders. This family thrill coaster launches guests into the sky for a dragon’s eye view of Berk. Guests will board a winged glider contraption and fly alongside Hiccup and Toothless, reaching speeds of 45mph.
The Untrainable Dragon
Universal has confirmed the online rumours: Epic Universe will include a show inspired by Universal Beijing’s “Untrainable” show. This dragon-filled spectacular will include Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber, and Astrid. Expect an incredible soundtrack and flying dragons to feature.
Fyre Drill
Another top attraction at Epic Universe is Ruffnut and Tuffnut’s Fyre Drill. Guests will board a Viking boat and set sail around Berk, blasting water cannons at flame targets to practice putting out fires – very handy when dragons are your companions.
Dragon Racer’s Rally
Experience the thrill of being a dragon racer in this interactive attraction. This ride allows you to swoop and dive from 67 feet in the air while controlling the extremity of your own adventure.
Viking Training Camp
Isle of Berk will also be home to an adventure play camp featuring a Viking agility course, a Toothless teeter-totter, and baby Gronckle dragon climbers. Universal hasn't shared a whole load of details about this attraction but from the concept art, it looks to be the perfect place to let tiny Vikings run loose.
Meet Hiccup and Toothless
Vikings young and old can head to Haddock Paddock to meet the fun duo Hiccup and Toothless. But that’s not all: other famous faces (and dragons) will be wandering around Berk throughout the day.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk Dining and Merchandise Locations
Running around as a Viking and flying dragons is pretty tiring. So, when hunger strikes, guests can head to one of the following spots:
Mead Hall – Described as the beating heart of Berk, this restaurant will be the main gathering place for Vikings. The menu will feature meat, fish, mead, and cider.
Spit Fyre Grill – This quick service spot will overlook the Fyre Drill water attraction, serving up a range of hearty meals flame-seared by a dragon fry cook.
Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel – This racing-themed food stand will be located in the Viking Camp and will offer guests quick bites in between rides.
As well as these incredible dining locations, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will also be home to multiple retail locations. Universal has revealed the names of these to be Viking Traders, How to Treat Your Dragon, Hiccup’s Work Shop, and Toothless’ Treasures.
