Mario Cafe & Store celebrated its grand opening at Universal Studios Japan this past week, permitting guests an exciting opportunity to experience the new food and drink items and themed merchandise. If you weren’t ready for Super Nintendo World before… this ought to do it!

What Is The Deal with Super Nintendo World?

Universal Studios Japan has announced that Super Nintendo World will officially open in the Spring of 2021. The multi-layered land will contain several well-known hotspots, including Bowser’s Castle, Peach’s Castle and Toad’s House. The land will also showcase several attractions, such as a Mario Kart attraction and a Yoshi omnimover attraction. The new edition promises to be highly interactive, allowing guests to hit power-up blocks and collect coins!

What Is Mario Cafe & Store?

Mario Cafe & Store is a restaurant/retail store where guests can partake in food and goods inspired by the creative world of Super Nintendo.

Step Inside

Inside Mario Café & Store you will find décor showcasing the familiar items and icons from the famous video games, including colourful Mushroom tables, bricks, Mario & Luigi’s hats, and much more!

Food & Drink

All the food & drink are inspired by the world of Super Mario Bros, including pancake sandwiches and cream soda drinks. Some of the themed food that can be found in the Cafe include:

  • Mario’s Pancake Sandwich Strawberry Shortcake – Fresh whipped cream and strawberries shortcake sandwich
  • Luigi’s Pancake Sandwich Rare Grape Cheesecake – Cheesecake sandwich topped with white grapes.
  • Mario’s Strawberry Cream Soda – Strawberry soda and juice balls with whipped cream.
  • Luigi’s Green Apple Cream Soda – Green Apple Soda with kiwi juice balls.
  • Princess Peach’s Peach Cream Sode – A light pink drink with peach juice balls.
  • Guests can also purchase a Super Mushroom souvenir cup for their soft drinks.

Super Nintendo World was originally intended to open this past Summer. Unfortunately, the pandemic had other plans and forced Universal to put off the opening for a bit.

Super Nintendo World is scheduled to open across all Universal Theme Parks, including Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando, and Universal Studios Singapore!
