We finally have exciting new details about an upcoming roller coaster at Shanghai Disneyland.

Disney first announced a brand-new attraction would be built next to Zootopia earlier this year in a note to shareholders. Many fans believe that this will be the highly-anticipated Spiderman coaster rumoured to be coming to Shanghai.

New Shanghai Disneyland Coaster Permit

The permit shows a new roller coaster between Zootopia & Treasure Cove at Shanghai Disneyland.

After some sleuthing, it was revealed that this new ride would likely be an outdoor high-speed roller coaster with two launches and multi-switch track elements. The permit confirms this and illustrates that the attraction area will span a whopping 5.26 acres.

The above diagram shows the central load/unload station and both forward and reverse launch stations. The plans also show a decent-sized merchandise shop to the right of the main ride entrance and a meet-and-greet spot.

According to construction notes filed alongside the permit, an official announcement is set to come from Disney on 2nd May, 2024. Whether this will be confirmed as a Spiderman/Marvel-themed roller coaster will (fingers crossed) soon be revealed.
