Spending long summer days at Animal Kingdom just got even more exciting. To mark The Lion King’s 30th Anniversary, Animal Kingdom will be home to a bumper celebration between 10th June and 6th September 2024.

The Lion King’s 30th Anniversary Celebration
When hunger strikes, Animal Kingdom has got you covered with a selection of classic and limited-edition The Lion King snacks. Disney is keeping schtum about exactly what we can expect for now, though they have shared an image of the adorable Pumbaa popcorn bucket that will be landing in the park this summer.
Guests are also invited to head over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch to meet Timon and Rafiki once again – check the My Disney Experience app to see what times these loveable animals will be meeting guests. And, while at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, head to the Animation Experience centre and release your creativity by learning to draw a selection of The Lion King characters.

An exclusive merchandise collection will also be released so that you and your pride can don your new apparel and enjoy the Festival of The Lion King show. Disney has teased a new pair of Hakuna Matata Mickey Ears, complete with Timon and Pumbaa graphics, plus new t-shirts, spirit jerseys, and a bag.
Disney previously celebrated The Lion King’s 25th birthday in a similar style, though the 2019 iteration of the event also featured the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party. Disney hasn’t announced that this will be returning, but we’re hoping to see impromptu dance parties near the Tree of Life throughout the summer months.
