Walt Disney World has announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open at Magic Kingdom this summer. Disney revealed the news during Mardi Gras season, giving fans of The Princess and the Frog another reason to celebrate.
Disney shared this fun video of Louis, the trumpet-playing alligator, and his accompanying jazz band to break the news.
About Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
The ride, a re-theme of Splash Mountain, will be all about Tiana. She is throwing a Mardi Gras party to say thank you to her community – and everyone is invited!
The ride system itself will remain the same, including the stomach-churning 50-foot drop at the end, but new songs and decorations will breathe a new lease of life into the attraction.
Disney has collaborated with music legends PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard to create a new original soundtrack for the ride, though you can also expect to hear some of your favorites from the movie.
The Imagineers have also shared a sneak peek at the Tiana audio-animatronic which will debut when the ride reopens. Tiana will be wearing her adventure outfit and she’ll be joined by lots of her friends (we’re sure Louis will be there with his trumpet, too.)
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Walt Disney World this summer before opening in Disneyland Park in late 2024. As they say in New Orleans, Laissez less bons temps rouler!
