Walt Disney World announced a reopening date for July 11, 2020, as they proposed to Florida Government. If it works out, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will open in the first stage, and then Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will follow suit based on how well everything else goes. If it all goes well, Epcot and Hollywood Studios will reopen beginning July 15, 2020.

Disney World Announces Reopening Date

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, Disney Parks Blog divulged the company’s plans for Walt Disney World’s phased reopening. The Walt Disney Company submitted their proposal for reopening this morning (May 27, 2020). The proposal had to be sent to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force in Florida, as required by the Florida Governor for this unprecedented time. Their approval is still pending, but since Disney already announced it, they seem confident that their proposal will get the green light.

Just like the phased openings of Disney Springs and Shanghai Disneyland, there will be lots of new safety requirements and protocols. For example, guests and cast members will need proper face coverings and temperature checks. The theme parks will also limit guest capacity and require physical distancing.
