The OC Register reported today about Disneyland considering cast member COVID-19 tests, likely for free. So, here is what we know so far.

Disneyland Considering Cast Member Tests

Disneyland officials told the OC Register this week, “We are currently evaluating options to provide COVID-19 testing to our Disneyland Resort cast members.” The resort employs over 31,000 people so it makes sense that Disney would have a lot to think about for this situation. Thankfully, this will not be something completely new to The Walt Disney Company. They recently announced that Walt Disney World cast members and their families will receive free COVID-19 testing. Family members are defined as spouses, domestic partners, parents, and children. They simply travel to their nearest Disney cast member-specific testing location. Although we do not know for sure right now, we imagine California Disney cast members may receive testing opportunities similar to those for the WDW cast members.

For now, Disneyland Park and, Disney’s California Adventure and the resort hotels remain closed until they receive official word on the new California state guidelines for a safe reopening. However, this definitely seems like a good sign that the parks could still be opening relatively soon. The Downtown Disney District is open though with limited capacity and increased health and safety measures.
