It was announced this morning that the Disneyland Resort is reopening on its 65th anniversary, July 17, 2020. Here’s what we know so far.

Disneyland Resort Reopening

It is finally here! The Disneyland Resort has a proposed opening date. If plans are approved by the state, the Downtown Disney District will start a phased opening on July 9, 2020. Both Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure Park will open on July 17, 2020, the 65th anniversary date of Disneyland Park. The Grand Floridian Hotel and Paradise Pier Hotel will reopen for guests on July 23, 2020. There has not been an announcement made regarding plans to reopen the Disneyland Hotel yet.

Since there is still a global pandemic going on, the entire resort will have to open with enhanced health and safety measures. These will include markers on the ground to show where guests need to stand, sit, and walk. That way, everyone can still safely distance themselves physically from others. Proper face coverings will be required. All guests and cast members will need to pass a temperature check before entering. Cast members will be trained on new, more intense and thorough cleaning procedures.

Guest capacity will need to be extremely limited. For this reason, all guests need to make a reservation ahead of time. This applies to annual pass holders too.
