Thorpe Park has announced that Hyperia will remain closed today, Wednesday 19th June.

Although Thorpe Park has not shared a reason for this closure, park guests have reported that Hyperia valleyed during early morning testing – this occurs when the roller coaster is unable to make it over the highest part of the track. In itself, this is not too unusual, but it follows a tumultuous opening period for Hyperia that saw it close for almost 3 weeks following its opening day.

If this is the case, engineers will need to bring the coaster back into the station for more testing before the ride will be permitted to reopen.
