As you are probably painfully aware, throughout the pandemic, Walt Disney World put a halt to selling new Annual Passes. Though renewals have since been made available, any newbies hoping to jump on the Annual Passholder bandwagon for the first time have been denied. Naturally, this has left Walt Disney World fans feeling a bit edgy, especially since Disneyland Resort did the unthinkable and cut the Annual Passholder cord completely – swapping Annual Passes for a new loyalty program! But now we have reason to believe that Walt Disney World Annual Passes are coming back!
Fortunately, according to “Pirates & Princesses” (who credit unnamed sources within Disney) we can expect Walt Disney World to start making NEW Annual Passes available soon! How soon, you ask?!?! How about… THIS SUMMER SOON!?!?
Wooooohoooooo!
Now, before you pull out your wallet and start maxing out your credit cards… remember that… nothing is certain! But you cannot deny that based upon the recent changes made to the park’s social distancing rules, mask rules, and the miracle that has been the removal of plexiglass… July seems to be the goal line for Walt Disney World to get things back to normal.
In fact, we have been led to believe that the latest date Walt Disney World may begin selling new Annual Passes will be prior to mid-August. According to a blurb inside Disney’s discussion of discontinued Magic Bands for Annual Passholders, Disney stated “… Annual Pass purchases and renewals made August 16, 2021 and beyond.” We highly doubt this was an unintentional typo!
